Working from our leading-edge trade floor in the heart of Vancouver’s financial district, we’ve become a key participant in the North American energy market by trading on the knowledge, insight and energy of the people who work here.
We’ll give you all the tools you need – leading-edge technology, flexible working conditions, training and professional development, to sharpen your skills and grow the company’s bottom line – and a highly competitive Total Rewards package.
Teamwork is our mantra - we perform the best when all employees are working hand-in-hand. While our salaries and transactional staff bonus pay are market-based, we pay for individual performance within the context of our business success.
Time Off On an annual basis you will receive 15 days annual vacation to recharge your batteries and explore all that Vancouver has to offer. Every two years thereafter you will earn one additional day of vacation, to a maximum of 30 days. We also offer 12 Statutory Holidays per year.
Benefits and Pension
Our benefits plan is comprehensive and flexible, enabling you to choose the plans that best meet your needs. Included are options for extended health, dental, life, accident and short and long term disability.
Our pension plan is a Defined Benefit plan which means that your retirement income is guaranteed based on the plan formula. It is not subject to market rate returns and is funded through employee and employer contributions.
Health and Wellness Programs
Being happy at work also means caring for yourself and your family. To help you maintain a healthy lifestyle and find the right balance between work and life, health resources such as the Employee and Family Assistance Program and health promotion programs, including health events, screens, workshops and education resources, are readily available.
Powerex’ employee led Social Responsibility Committee ‘Energy for Humanity’ is gives back to the community in a number of ways, (e.g. community volunteering, sporting events and raising funds for a number of local charities). We also participate along with BC Hydro in the annual United Way campaign, ‘to build stronger communities’. At Powerex the environment is very important to us, and we show our social responsibility by composting food waste, and recycling plastics, paper, batteries and electronics. It is also important to note that for our recent office renovations, Powerex achieved gold certification under LEED’s Commercial Interiors rating system, including adopting everything from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood right down to 100% recycled rubber tire flooring in many areas in our office.
